Best Nicknames in Team History.

Verda "Vitamin" Smith won an NFL championship with the 1951 Rams. Since he once held the single-season record for touchdowns on kickoff returns, he must have been on a strict regimen of Vitamin F for fast.

But I think the best nickname in Ram history stays with Jim "Hacksaw" Reynolds, who earned the name in college by sawing a Chevy in half, by hand, after a frustrating loss. You want that guy on your team. Or at least you don't want that guy on the other team.

Jim Lee "Earthquake" Hunt is getting the nod for memorable Patriots nickname. A perennial All Star defensive lineman, Earthquake was a founding member of the Patriots (1960) and one of the few guys whose career spanned the entire decade of the AFL before its merger into the NFL.
